Hi,

I am using Forefront TMG 2010 on a virtual machine VMware Server 2008 R2 with 2 GB ram.

Every night around 00.35 there is an event 701 in the windoes application log saying: There is insufficient memory in resource pool 'internal' to run this query.

I have googled this and it seems to exist different way to get rid of it. Some say the server memory in SQL shall be limited, some say that the physical memory should be increased, some say that it does not help to increase memory since SQL will use all available memory for cache anyway.

No other errors are reported in forefront. Is this really an error since everything seems to work fine?

Any suggestions how to solve this in the correct way?

I think every night 0:35 TMG starts to generate summary reports. If you don't need it, just switch if off. So it's more about SQL.

Thanks for your reply. I went to Logs and reports -> Configure report settings -> and unchecked enable daily and monthly summaries.

But, this didn't help. The error message event id 701 source MSSQL$ISARS is still coming back in the windows applications log.

The fix linked above is for Server 2008 and I am using 2008 R2. To increase paging seems a bit risky from what I have read.

Any other suggestions?

I found the following KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982854. We can draw the conclusion from the KB that it has something to do with SQL. Try to update it http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=27597

I downloaded SQL express 2008 SP3 from the link above but did not get the option to upgrade but only to install from scratch. How to handle this in a correct way?
