EventID 10016 DCOM Windows 7 64bit
Anyone getting this error, with "shell windows" ? The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39} and APPID {9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39} to the user "x1x2x3xxxx\Xxx SID (S-1-1-11-271111111-2111111111-411111111-1000)" from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. I found the error appears when you run Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) shortcut. I have tested this and for whatever reason, this is the cause.

Hi , The issue can only be solved by changing the security settings for the corresponding registry entries. Please locate the following registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{AppID of the event log} Right click andselect Permissions, set yourself as owner (via Advanced) and afterwards grant yourself full permissions to this entry. If you afterwards go to the properties of this DCOM object, you can edit the settings. If the issue persists, please check if the following article is helpful. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Windows+Operating+System&ProdVer=5.2&EvtID=10016&EvtSrc=DCOM&LCID=1033 Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. bullcrap!!!! Don't tell me that crap Niki, ok? It cannot be fixed this way, I tried DCOM permissions. I told you why the error appears, its from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff short cut. when you run the no add-ons IE it makes the error. I've been into DCOM and tried everything, dont waste my breath.

Hi, I also get this error when running IE with no add-ons. It may be by design.
