Eval Versions of Windows 7
I'm an instructor at a local college and will be teaching Windows 7 next quarter. We are using the Microsoft Press Self-Study books for the class and the book does not come with a eval copy of Windows 7. In the past when teaching the 2008 server classes we had a version that worked for 60 days and you could just re-arm it before the 60 days expired. Is there a version like that for Windows 7 that does not need to be activated? It's going to be difficult to have each student get a separate evaluation version of Windows 7 Enterprise that all need to be activated. Basically the class is 10 weeks and each student will have at least 2 installs of Windows 7 running in VMs. Is there a way for me to get a copy that doesn't need activation, that can be installed multiple times, and lasts for at least 10 weeks? I'm trying to do this with as little wasted time and hassle as possible for the students and I. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can download the Enterprise version, which needs reinstalling (I’m not sure about rearming) after 90 days. I don’t know if one product key can be used multiple times, but it has to be activated. Read this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/cc442495.aspx

That version will work except that according to the site it won't be offered after the end of the year. Also I would have to be able to use the same download for many installs. It's very impractical to have every student download a separate copy for each install they do. What I need to be able to do download it myself and burn a bunch of copies for the class so they can install 2 to 3 VMs of Windows 7. I need something that is going to be a long term solution that I can use more than just next quarter. The college does have access to MSDNAA, but this doesn't really solve my problem either as the keys that issued on MSDNAA can only be activated a few times at most.

You can use Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Days Trail version. Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Days Trail version can be deployed to multiple computers. It has the built-in product key which is needed to active Windows 7 within 10 days. Moreover, if you use other editions of Windows 7. You could run slmgr.vbs -rearm command to reset the activation clock up to 3 times, thus you could use Windows 7 for free 90 days logically.
