Hi, my laptop is configured with a static IP-address on the Ethernet adapter. WiFi is turned off. I want to connect per TCP to a device which is configured with a static IP address as well (in the same subnet as the laptop). This device receives commands and data from the laptop and does not provide internet access. My problem is that the connection cannot be established immediately: Windows apparently tries to detect the network configuration, the network is described as "undefined network" and no connection is possible. Now the crazy part: if the cable is disconnected and connected again, the network gets defined as "unknown network", a connection is possible and traffic suddenly goes through. On Windows XP this problem does not occur. Actually all I would like to have is a method to get exactly the same behaviour, deactivate any kind of automatic detection, only two network adapters with static IP-addresses which communicate over TCP. Any ideas about how to achieve this? Thanks in advance!
