Errors in Malicious Software Removal Tool Log
My daily request to install MSRT was traced to the fact that mrt.exe was being expanded to and run from a network drive, in my case a Netgear SC101 (Drive G:). When I dismounted this drive and ran MSRT, it works fine with no errors and the continuous request disappeared. The error message I found in C/windows/debug/mrt.log was; "Security policy doesn't allow for all actions MSRT may require". That doesn't make sense. How does that happen? We do not install MRT to a NAS or network drive and we still always get the same error in the mrt.log file: "Security policy doesn't allow for all actions MSRT may require." No infections are found, but it still post the error and return code 0 (0x0) Does someone have other ideas? Antivirus conflict? Something else? A specific security policy that needs to be changed? A bug? 2 people need an answerI do too
