Error message-Build 7600
Help! I am having the same problem as others have stated. This copy of Windows 7 is not genuine. Build 7600. I have Windows 7 installed on my partitioned mac. I have installed it without the key, I just pressed next because it was an upgrade copy that I purchased by mistake. Does the solution of removewat.exe erase/delete anything? I have Word 2007 that I don't have a backup copy of anymore and I do not want to remove it. Any idea if this or any other solution will work? Thanks. Anna

Hi, Thanks for the post! Did you install the wrong edition? If that, the only way is reinstalling the computer. In addition, if you do not want to lose the Office, please contact Office support http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeitpro to check if you can get an office installation media or download link. Anna, In addition to Miya Yoa post. If you install a upgrade or full install of windows you always need to fill in a serial key. If you don't do this (like in your case) windows gives you 30 days to enter in your serial key and activiate your copy. So the only thing that you need to do use the serial key of the latest purchase and use this key to activate your windows. If you are still able to logon you can perform the following procedure. Run Elevated Command Prompt with administrator rights or privileges. To do so, locate Command Prompt icon in Start Menu, right click on it and select “Run as Administrator”. You can also type in “command prompt” in 7 instant search, and right click on Command Prompt shortcut and then select “Runas Administrator” to enable administrator credentials. Answer yes to any UAC confirmation. You can also turn off UAC. In the command prompt window, type the following command: slmgr.vbs -ipk <insert your product key here> Replace <insert your product key here> with the 25-digit Windows 7 product key. To activate windows after changing the key, run the following command in the command prompt window: slmgr.vbs -ato If your not able to logon any more you just need to follow the wizard that helps you to activate your windows version.
