Error installing XBox Music/Video app from Windows Store: Error code 0x80070057

I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro RTM, downloaded from MSDN. I was running Windows 8.1 Pro Preview last week.

When I try to install the Music/Video app from the Windows Store, I get: "Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code 0x80070057".

The problem I'm having is specific to those two apps; not sure if the error happens with other apps, but I was able to install Skype, XBox Game and Mail, Calendar and Contacts apps (to name a few that may be related). I was able to install Music/Video apps in Windows 8.1 Preview.

I searched all over the Internet and this error code, apparently, means A LOT of things. However, all of them seem to be related to Windows Update.

Things I have already done:

-       Run WSReset

-       I checked everything in this list: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/why-find-install-app-windows-store

-       Allow apps to use my location option is enable

-       Reset the Windows Update cache (SoftwareDistribution folder)

-       Made sure I have a payment method associated to my account (I had one already on my account, as I recently purchased an Xbox Music Pass subscription, but it did not appear on the Windows Store in my PC)

-       Followed this tutorial (the apps are not listed as installed):http://www.pocketables.com/2012/10/how-to-fix-fruit-ninja-or-any-other-broken-app-on-windows-8.html

-       Tried this: http://johndandison.com/blog/post/2012/04/05/Windows-8-Metro-Apps-Store-Windows-Update-WSUS.aspx

-       Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter (for Windows 8)

-       Tried another Microsoft Account

-       Restarted the PC (several times)

-       Tried a clean boot

So now I have a paid subscription to Xbox Music Pass, but cannot use the app in Windows 8.1.

Additional info:

Several entries are added to the Windows Event Viewer when I try to install the apps:

In "System" as error:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070057: Microsoft.ZuneMusic.

In "Application" as information (there are 4 entries similar to these):

Well, I finally could "fix" this issue. What I did, was:

1) Turn my Microsoft (connected) account into a local account
2) Created a new local account (with administrative privileges)
3) Switched to this new account and converted it to a Microsoft account (using the original one)
4) Deleted the old one

After this, the music app was automatically installed and available after the account's initial setup and I was able to sign in with no problem at all.

The culprit, I think, was an option presented to me during the Windows installation process: I selected to install my PC as a "new PC", but I checked the option "Sync my start screen" (don't know why, actually). As I was coming from Windows 8.1 preview, I think this might have screwed things up a little bit.

During this process of switching from Microsoft accounts to local accounts, I encountered the same problem I saw in another thread: the installed Music app was a "preview" instead of the final app and I was unable to update or uninstall it.
