Dear All,

i have a tmg server 2010 sp2 used to publish our lync server serveries,suddenly it stopped working .

if  run  test rule i received the following error 

Time reported by the Microsoft Forefront TMG Firewall Service: 0.010 seconds

Testing https://lync.xxxxxxxx:4443/

Category: Connectivity error Error details: 64 - The specified network name is no longer available.

Action: Go to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=115965

also from logging 

Failed Connection Attempt

Log type: Web Proxy (Reverse)

Status: 64 The specified network name is no longer available.

Source: Local Host (Connectivity Test) (x.x.x.x:10322)

Destination: x.x.x.x:4443

Request: GET https://lync.x.x.x.:4443/

Filter information:

Protocol: http



I tried to install new windows   but same error.

im not sure if this issue from the tmg or the front end server .I checked the event viewer and log  but there are  not errors.

Hi,

Based on your log, do you had the test on TMG? If yes, I think the problem is no related to publish rule on TMG.

Does the problem persist? Does it work fine before?

Please check If your DNS server works fine.

You should test from external and collect error information again.

Hi 
 i managed to solve this issue by adding the ssl certificate in the site binding .
before it was working before ,but its seems the last windows update has changed something :)

im not sure which updates but this issue start directly after I installed the latest updstes.

When using SSL the Cert must be "built" from the Site's FQDN, ...you cannot use IP#s,...you have to use the actual FQDN.  If you don't use the FQDN the name does not "match" and it fails ("x.x.x.x" does not equal "www.somesite.com")

I used the HOSTS file on the TMG server to enable it to resolve the external published FQDN (also the certificate's FQDN/Common Name or SAN) to the internal server.
