Error code : 0x80070BC9 when try to install windows update KB976902 and Windows 7 SP1
Hi all.. I have a problem installing windows update KB976902 and then SP1 on windows 7 platform. We use wsus server 3.0 SP2 for updating our company computers. All other win 7 machines but on 2 I have this problem. I have tried using windows on line update but I still got the same error. I must mention that In windows registry I get the same error. I also deleted detection time in registry, restarted windows update service but with no success... the error code means you must reboot the PC. 80070BC9 = 3017 // // MessageId: ERROR_FAIL_REBOOT_REQUIRED // // MessageText: // // The requested operation failed. The computer is restarted several times... I really cannot find out what is the problem, Also the computer does not reports it self in wsus server. I've tried to remove sus client id from windows registry to obtain new susid fro wsus server, yes, it recieves new id but still does not report him self in to the server... any suggestion? I don't use WSUS. Ask this in the WSUS Forums: WSUS Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here. I take a look at the log, maybe I can see more details.
