Error code 0x81000015 while trying to take a backup in Windows 7 RC 64 bits
Hi!I'm trying to backup the system disk - a striped raid par of Samsung Spinpoint F1 750 GB. I'm backing up to a WD 1 TB just formatted. Of the system disk 0.99 TB is free (of 1.36TB) The backup alternative is the recommended full backup. I have twice received the error code 0x81000015 when the the backup i almost concluded. I can't figure out why it doesn't work. There is plenty of space on both disks and the hardware is working ok.What's wrong, and what can I do to get the backup working?

Try turning off your Antivirus and other compression software before you run backup, from what I can gather it's an issue with some 3rd party software that's been installed on Windows 7.-Ken | http://ken.wagnerfamily.co.uk

Hi Krister, There is a known issue in backup caused due to the installation of certain applications in RC, but it has been fixed in RTM. Since you are using RC, I recommend you use RTM to solve this issue. Also, we can follow the below method to narrod down this issue: The backup problem may be occurred by some third-party antivirus or firewall running background, I suggest you temporarily disable the third-party antivirus and firewall before doing a backup. In addition, we can also do a clean boot to test this issue. If the problem exists, please locate C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup. There is a log named "Backup Files*_error.log" will be created when starting backup. We can check the detail error about the backup problem. Betty
