Error Message - Windows 7 will not open
I got an error message #766f6c756d652e63 3f1 indicating problem with d: drive. Machine will not open even in safe mode. The power was turned off and shut the machine down just before this problem began. No new software has been added.

Little more info please, where was Windows 7 installed on? Your C or D drive (sounds like D drive). What type of machine is this? PC or Laptop. Was the hard drive partitioned or do you have 2 separate drives (in the case of the PC). If you partition a single hard drive, then it sounds like a hard drive failure since this isn't a windows error code. Seems someone else in the forum had the exact same error code. Hi Dwass631, In the system recovery options, I would like to suggest you launch Command Prompt and run the following command to check the hard disk. D: CHKDSK /R Note: Please replace "D:" with the actual drive letter of the system drive on which Windows 7 is stored. If the hard disk is good, but Windows 7 still cannot boot, you may also run Startup Repair and System Restore to check the issue. Good luck!Arthur Li - MSFT
