I have Win. XP SP3WindowsXP-KB894391-x86-ARAWindowsXP-KB921883-x86-ENUThe windows updates you have tried to install do not apply to a computer with the Windows XP SP3 update installed. That is why the updates will not install! Please provide more information regarding the problem you have. What are you doing on the computer when the error occurs?Does the problem occur whilst the computer is booting or after the boot process has completed?Doe the error occur when you are on the internet or when you using the computer offline? When the error next occurs make a note of the time and 5 minutes later look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer. Copy the details in a further message here. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important. A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and do a paste into the body of the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

More times than not, when you receive the error " Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. Your report from Malwarebytes is indicating a malware infestation. You need to let Malwarebytes complete and then see if you still have any problems. Malware can damage the system files and you may need Event Viewer later to help you repair the system. The report from Malwarebytes is showing infected System Restore points which means they should not be used to repair the system when the malware has been removed.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

The report from Malwarebytes is showing infected System Restore points which means they should not be used to repair the system when the malware has been removed.Gerry.Your eyes are definitely better than mine. I can only see that Malwarebytes detected malware. I suppose you saved and enlarged the images.@nn.1111.nnIn addition to Malwarbytes showing detected malware, SuperAntiSpyware is as well. I cannot see what was detected but, can tell you from experience with the software the first detections listed were adware. Below that, however, is something more dangerous. Malware doesn't attack restore points. Meaning, the restore points became infected as a result of other files being first infected. While these scanners are certainly good, they are not conclusive. Get rid of your current anti-virus and install Avast 5.0 free version. Once installed, perform a boot-time scan following the numbered directions on the image below. Click on the image to enlarge.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/

JoelI am not sure I enlarged beyond 150%.Looking again it seems that, although Malwarebytes has detected the infestation, it may have not removed the infestation. I will make a further post advising how to remove the infected restore points. I intended to do this when the OP reported that Malwarebytes had completed and cleaned up.It is apparent from earlier posts that English is not a first language for the OP. With the benefit of hindsight I now think the pictures were used as any easy way to tell us the result of running Malwarebytes.Regards, Gerry Cornell

nn.1111.nnI am not totally clear what you have done since you posted the reports in your latest message. You need to remove all System Restore restore points created before you ran Malwarebytes.Select Start, Control Panel, System, System Restore. Click in the box before Turn off System Restore for all drives. Click on Apply and OK. Exit and restart your computer. When the computer has completed rebooting you need to turn System Restore back on.Select Start, Control Panel, System, System Restore. Click in the box before Turn on System Restore for all drives. Click on Apply and OK. Exit and restart your computer. When the computer has completed rebooting you need to turn off System Restore for all drives other than your C drive. The procedure is explained in the link below:http://bertk.mvps.org/html/drivedisable.htmlNow you need to manually create a restore point. The way to do this is described in the next link:http://bertk.mvps.org/html/createrp.htmlI would then run Malwarebytes again and make certain that there are no references to any infection. You can post further pictures like you did earlier if that helps you explain the result of running Malwarebyes a second time.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

EJMJrYou have posted an off topic reply to this thread. Why aren't you posting to the thread you started. That way everyone has a better understanding of your problem. Also you have posted two copies of the same error report and neither directly relate to your original problem. Please repost to your original thread and I will try to help you tomorrow to resolve both problems.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

nn.1111.nn That's a good result. I am not totally clear what you have done since you posted the reports in your latest message. You need now to remove all System Restore restore points created before you ran Malwarebytes and Avast. Select Start, Control Panel, System, System Restore. Click in the box before Turn off System Restore for all drives. Click on Apply and OK. Exit and restart your computer. When the computer has completed rebooting you need to turn System Restore back on. Select Start, Control Panel, System, System Restore. Click in the box before Turn on System Restore for all drives. Click on Apply and OK. Exit and restart your computer. When the computer has completed rebooting you need to turn off System Restore for all drives other than your C drive. The procedure is explained in the link below: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/drivedisable.html Now you need to manually create a restore point. The way to do this is described in the next link: http://bertk.mvps.org/html/createrp.html That should complete the task of removing all malware your computer, unless you still see unexplained events. You can never be 100% certain that any single or two security programmes will remove every infected file on a computer. Finally I suggest you now do some housekeeping. Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to empty your Recycle Bin, remove Temporary Internet Files and other selected options. I also recommend you click on the More Options tab, System Restore and remove all but the latest System Restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

@nn.1111.nI am gonna leave your topic to Gerry to prevent confusion. You are in very capable hands. I would add however, the scan you performed with Avast is not the scan I recommended. While the results may have been the same, running a boot-time scan is much more accurate than a full scan after windows has loaded. To explain in short terms, once windows has loaded there are certain files which become locked and cannot be scanned. However, a boot-time scan scans the files prior to windows loading and therefore all files can be scanned. Also, I noticed the orange Avast icon in your system tray has a red "x" through it. I am curious as to whether you has some part of Avast disabled or whether the signature data base was outdated. I have no way to determine the cause.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/
