Error Code 28
Greetings, I just changed the internal hard drive in my Vaio laptop. I installed Home XP & upgraded with my XP Professional disk. However, I still cannot connect to the internet or link my laptop to my home network because the "other devices" (Ethernet controller, Mass Storage Controller, Network Controller, PCI device, SM Bus Controller, & Video Controllers) have no drivers installed. The only way the computer knows how to acquire these drivers is via the Microsoft Update web service. And as I stated I cannot connect w/o them. There has to be a way. (how else are service specialists able to make it work when they perform this service in shop) I sure would appreciate some insight. Thx -J1 person got this answerI do too

CitadelStrkr, This is commonly accomplished by downloading the drivers directly from Sony's support website and then transfer the files with a USB Flash Drive. In fact, it's very common for techs to get drivers directly from the manufacturer, even if Windows Update provides a driver.
