I have a client that has been using a Intellinet wireless VPN router to remotely access her network to access files on her office PC's while away. Ihe VPN works great with Win-XP, but I get a 741 error when trying to establesh a connection with Win-7. The connection starts OK Verify user and password OK Connecting with WAN miniport OK Regestering Computer on Network - ERROR 741 encryption mismatch The Vista forum has a regstry work around to allow week encryption, but it does not work with Win-7. I hope that someone can help me with this issue as I have several clients with the same router.

Hi, The issue could be related to incompatible router or network adapter driver, security software blocking or spyware preventing the connection, etc. I suggest updating the network adapter driver on Windows 7 from manufacture's site and router firmware at the same time first. Booting in clean boot and disabling any security software or firewall. Also try the following KB.
