Error 740 (requires elevated privileges) when my service launches an application
Hi, We have a service that launches an application and I get the error 740. We went through this a couple years ago with Vista (adding the manifest, etc.) and it works well in Vista with UAC turned on but it fails on Windows 7. Are there major differences between the 2 OSes UAC system? Thanks François

Hi, To troubleshoot the issue, please modify the following policies to “Prompt for Credentials” in Group Policy. Open Group Policy->Select Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security options->”User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in admin Approval Mode.” Please repeat above steps to modify the ->”User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for Standard users.” in the same location. For more information, please refer to the following article: RUNAS functionality Thanks, Novak
