Error 0xC03A0014 (A virtual disk support provider for the specified file was not found)

Hi

Today I installed the Windows 8.1 rtm.
But I have a problem with hyper-v:

I can't open an existing virtual hard disk, and also I can't create a new virtual hard disk.

The error is this:

Before Windows 8.1 I had Windows 8.0 and I haven't any problem with hyper-v.

I need hyper-v for Windows phone developing

What is the problem?

thank you

Luca

The error is caused (I think) by this error in event viewer:

The driver \Driver\vhdmp failed to load for the device {8e7bd593-6e6c-4c52-86a6-77175494dd8e}\MsVhdHba\1&3030e83&0&01.

in Device Manager, the Microsoft VHD Loopback Controller has got the warning icon. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but the problem remain... what can i do? it says:

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Hi,

0xC03A0014 : Windows Errors happens when your operating system becomes misconfigured, important system files go missing or get damaged. This is a common problem with computers that dont get maintained regularly. Eventually the system becomes overloaded with problems and begins to crash and display errors.

You can try to re enable Hyper-v in Windows Program and features for test.

In addition, you can refer to the link below for more solutions about this problem.

It's strange because this errors appears from a new installation of Windows 8.1 rtm, I installed it from Windows 8 and I choose the option to keep only personal files (not the applications).

I have already tried to reenable the hyper-v feature, but the problem remains.

I will reinstall Windows 8.1 in the future months, but this time I will format the hard disk for a completely new installation
