Error 0x80070035
Not able to connect to external network drive. I have 2 Vista laptops, one wireles router, one WD network HD - NHD (WorldBookII). I have turned off FW when attempting to connect to my network drive for the first time just to be sure thats not the prob. Both laptops and the NHD are on same workgroupe. Laptop 1 connects with user and pw to NHD with no problem. Trying to map drive on laptop 2 gives error message 0x80070035. I have full control access to NHD via IE but can't map the drive and use files on NHD. How can I get access to NHD?

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum. Error code 0x80070035 indicates that the network path was not found. To troubleshoot this kind of issue, I would like to propose the following suggestions. 1. Make sure that Network Discovery is turned on on laptop 2, by default the Network Discovery state is off. If the Network Discovery is off, please take the following steps to turn it on. 1) Click Start. 2) Click Control Panel. 3) Click Networking and Sharing Center. 4) Click the Drop Down arrow next to Network Discovery. 5) Click the option, Turn on network discovery. 6) Click apply. 2. Use the net command map the drive. 1) Click Start. 2) Right click Command Prompt by running as administrator. 3) Type the command: net use m:\\NHD\letters\ For more information about net use, please visit the following website. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490717.aspx 3. Install the latest Windows Vista Service Pack, it may include the solution to this issue. There is a related KB I would like to share with you. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958285 Best Regards. Thanks.
