To repair your system, you can try the following steps.In-place Upgrade============= 1. Restart your computer, then insert the Windows 7 DVD in the DVD drive. 2. Click Start and choose Computer.3. Please find the "setup.exe" file in the DVD-ROM and double click it.4. Click Install now. 5. When we are prompted to input the product key, please click Next without inputting any key. The setup wizard will prompt and ask if you agree to install Windows 7 without the key. Please choose to confirm.6. When you reach the "Which type of installation do you want" screen, click Upgrade to upgrade the system files of Windows 7.Note: While performing the In-place Upgrade, the system will restart automatically (several times) to merge the files and programs. Please leave the computer alone and do not configure it until In-place Upgrade is completed. The system will start Windows Vista once it is upgraded. When the In-place Upgrade finishes, please check if you can use pair your Bluetooth devices. You canrefer to the following link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Connect-to-Bluetooth-and-other-wireless-or-network-devicesGood luck!John

Hi,Your burn DVD issue can be caused by several factors. Since you can play them on your laptop, the burn feature in the WMP should be fine. You can burn an audio CD with some other manufactures' CDs. The CD may not compatible withyourBOSE player. As your request, you can try anyone program from the following link:http://www.dkszone.net/2009/08/6-best-free-dvd-cd-burning-software.htmlGood luckJohn

Dear John, I read your solution to the problem/same as I find on the web. My problem is the system restore does not work with the same error and also I cannot boot into windows. I can boot into recovery mode where the system reports that there is no reason not to boot and the system restore does not work with error 0x800ffff. basically the only option I have is the command prompt. I try to do a new install on top of the old installation and as you mention it is saying you should run setup.exe from inside windows but how can I do this if windows will not start? on Winxp you could re-install on top from the setup disks. is there anyway to fix system restore from recovery mode? or do I have to make a new clean install as the only solution?

I think you should try Startup repair in the Windows Repair environment first. John
