Error 0x0 and 0x490 in 7
Hi I started to notice that any programs that I have recently installed doesn't show up in the programs menu. The file is there but there is no exe file.So I ran the repair disk and tried a registry cleaner and now I get a windows error recovery when trying to get into 7. I also have xp and vista installed and they seem to be fine. After running the repair disk it says it can repar it automatically and it shows there was an error code of 0x0 and ox490. The problem of the start menu seemed to happened when I used advance uninstaller pro I think I may have deleted something in the registry and then the startup error occured when I tried to repair the registry using a free cleaner.

To start, sounds like you need to use Recovery and roll it back to before you used the "free cleaner".

Unfortunately when I go between the different operating systems it deletes all restore points which I didn't know until this occurred so that isn't an option.Brian Cangero

Goto your BIOS setting and check IDE configuration, if it is wrongly selected as AHCI then change it with IDE. Read my blog (Blog) Please click "Propose As Answer" if a post solves your problem or "Vote As Helpful" if a post has been useful to you
