Error 0x00000709 when setting default printer
Hi, When a member of staff tries to set a printer to default we sometimes receive the error '0x00000709'. We don't get this error all the time and it is definatley intermittent, logging off and logging back on sometimes resolves it. Any ideas how to fix this? We are an enviroment with 700+ Windows 7 Professional 32bit computers in so I would prefer not to do a local fix each time it happens. Thank you.

Hi, You may restart the Print Spooler service to see how it works. Also, update the printer driver to the latest version with the 32 bit driver. Tracy Cai TechNet Community Support

I too have this problem. I am a small home business user with one desktop (Windows 7, 64 bit) and 2 laptop computers with a networked Xerox Color-Qube printer. This has happened on my desktop only, the laptops both work prefectly. I have downloaded a new printer driver, deleted and re-added the printer, checked the port and printer address etc (several times) to no avail, don't know how to "restart thePrint Spooler service to see how it works". I use Office 2010, which allows me to select the printer before clicking Print and this then prints. When I try to print a pdf using Adobe) which has no such facility, it won't print. Help, Please

I have the same problem when trying to print pdf files and excel. No problem with word documents. I paid for and downloaded "ErrorEnd". No difference. Still get the same problem but now poorer. So frustrating
