Error: the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed
My workstation was rebooted andthen lost connection to local network at work. Windows will not accept my login credentials and apparently is trying to revert to other credentials that are nonexistant. I believe the workstation needs to be removed from the domain and then rejoined somehow. Also needs started in "safe mode." Problem is, logging in is not possible. Is there a work around for this problem? Thanks!!!BH

Hi BH, after checking the issue, it seems this is a Windows Server related issue. As this forum focuses on Windows Vista specific issues, this inquiry would best be posted to the following forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsserver The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. I am having this problem rught now on Vista Ultimate. It's a machine I haven't used in a while. But now when I try, I get the message above. My domain password has changed in the meantime, but if I use my old password (which I should have done maybe, with the network cable unplugged) it says the password is wrong, so it gets far enough to know that. But with the new correct pw, it gives the message mentioned above. And of course I don't know the local admin password. :-(
