Error: 0x81000015 Everything was working fine until I had a blue screen a week ago.
I have had Windows 7 64-bit Home Edition installed on my Dell computer for about 2 years. I always back up onto an external 2TB drive that has 1.14 TB free. My C drive has 261 GB free. And everything has gone smoothly every Friday when my computer automatically does a back up. Last week I had a blue screen that was a result of a program that had been left open and which was forced to shut down. I received the 0x81000015 error message last night. I tried to backup again and received the same error message and this morning I changed the settings to let Windows decide what to back up and it still failed to create the Zip file. As I stated, this has only happened several month ago when I attempted to back up on a 3TB external drive and so I have been using my 2TB drive. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, In the meantime, you may upload dump files on SkyDrive and let us analyze for you. The log file will be %systemroot%\Minidump which is normally C:\windows\Minidump How to read the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support

It was Stuffit! The blue screen must have lost or reset my preferences. I deleted Stuffit (I never use it anyway) and did a successful backup. Thank you both for your help.
