Erratic curser movement and scrolling issue
I am having some strange cursor problems. In MS Word 2007 I have a file open. I want to save it as another file name. When I use save as, I begin to type the new name in the file name box. If I type an A, the box immediately scrolls to the "A"'s and flickers between all the files beginning with A when I then type a letter the other file name appears and the letter I just typed is at the end of the .docx or .doc extention. I then type the full name of my file and delete the incorrect name. For instance: Old file name: procedure.doc new file name: file process.doc when I save as, I remove the old file name and type an "f". The system brings up all files in that directory beginning with "f" like: file list.doc I then have to just start typing my new file name and it looks like this: file list.docfile process.doc I then have to delete the first part "file list.doc" My other problem is that while typing in word, or in Internet Explorer, as I am typing, my cursor will just move to another random part of the document. My system is: Dell Inspiron 1440 Windows 7 Pentium Dual Core CPU T1440 @2.20 GHz 64bit, 4GB RAM ACPIx64 Ok I was just in Device manager and clicked on the computer and details, when I pointed to the drop down menu under details the menu came down and quickly when up and the system automatically scrolled through all of the options finally settling on display. When I clicked the drop down arrow and tried to move the scroll bar up, the system just when crazy again and flickered through all of the options. Hope someone can help.

Sounds like a piece of hardware is failing, keyboard, mouse, touchscreen. OR there may be an initialization issue with the device driver. If the devices are USB unplug them, shutdown windows, wait 30 seconds, power up the PC, let windows come up completely and stabalize, then plug the USB devices back in one at a time.May we all make money in the sequel.

Hi, I agree with Dave. When did this issue first occur? I think it might have something to do with your keyboard, touchpad or mouse. The input device might not be sensitive or too much sensitive. Unplug your mouse first to check the result. If no go, try an external keyboard and disable the touchpad to troubleshoot the issue.
