Enormous font size in Outlook Express email messages
HiI have recently received a few emails where the font size is so huge that the message is almost impossible to read. The messages originate from two trusted, but totally independent people. This has only occurred since Tuesday 19 October 2010, so very recent.Any ideasSam4a

Click your mouse on the message window and then hold down the Ctrl key and spin your mouse wheel.<Bill>Brought to you from Anchorage, Alaska.sam4a wrote:HiI have recently received a few emails where the font size is so hugethat the message is almost impossible to read. Go to View | Text size in the message window and see if you can adjust it there. Medium is the default steve <sam4a> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...HiI have recently received a few emails where the font size is so huge that the message is almost impossible to read. I read all my messages in plain text. It works for plain text but you are right that it does not work for HTML. I learned something new. Maybe just read the messages in plain text and then you can adjust the font size if you need to. By the way if you are reading a message in plain text and want to read it in HTML just do a Alt-Shift-H.<Bill>sam4a wrote:Interesting thought, but it doesn't work with my mouseSam4a

Hi Hansall the IE accessibilty options were already unticked - I tried that earlier before postingBillReading messages in plain text makes them readable and is an acceptable work around - but I don't understand what might have changed in the past few daysSam4a

I have also received a few messages like this just in the past week.(Could it have anything to do with the Windows .Net framework updates recently installed?)Anyway, the easy work-around is to click on the 'forward e-mail' button. Then you are in editing mode and can switch, using the 'format' tab from rich text to plain text. The whole e-mail then becomes normal size.Citrange

This is getting irritating.More messages with enormous font.Usually replies to my e-mails, where just my original message is shown in 100pt or 110pt text!I saved some e-mails as html and 'viewed source' from Internet Explorer. The normal ones had HEAD statements containing content=MSHTMLThe faulty ones have HEAD statements containing a lot of lines similar tourn:schemas-microsoft-com:vmlurn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags content="Microsoft Word 11 (filtered medium)"I don't know exactly what this all means, but it seems significant!Citrange

That means its likely coming from Word (and Outlook). It doesn't explain the large font size. Try doing a CTRL-F2 on the message and that will show the HTML code and it might reveal what is happening. steve <Citrange> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...This is getting irritating.More messages with enormous font.Usually replies to my e-mails, where just my original message is shown in 100pt or 110pt text!I saved some e-mails as html and 'viewed source' from Internet Explorer.
