Hi,1. Do you have any antivirus software installed?2. Since when are you getting the ‘Firewall not activated’ message? Check if the Windows Firewall service is started.a. Click on the 'Start' button then, in the 'Run' dialog, enter 'services.msc'.b. In 'Services', scroll down to almost the bottom then double-click on 'Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)'.c. Change the 'Startup type' from 'Manual' to 'Automatic' then 'Apply' the change and click on 'OK'.The Windows Firewall will now start automatically from boot up. If the service is not already started then click on the 'Start the service' link.d. You can now close the 'Services' window. Hope this helps.Regards,Manasa P – Microsoft Support.

I have Avast as my anti virus software.Probably for the past two weeks I've been getting the "Firewall not activated" message. This morning I didn't get it.I did what you suggested, but when I got down to the Statup Type it already said "Automatic". Thanks though. crownvic
