Enabling BitLocker is causing an endless cycle of rebooting
I have a problem with BitLocker on a brand new Levono G560 laptop (Core i5 430M, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium x64). I upgraded it with a Windows Anytime upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate to get BitLocker. I changed the group policy to allow BitLocker without a TPM and then tried to turn on BitLocker to encrypt the system drive (C). It correctly generated an encryption key and saved it to a USB key. So far so good. Before it starts encrypting it tries to reboot in order to check that it can successfully read the encryption key from the USB key as it boots. The machine reboots and briefly flashes up a message saying that it has successfully read the encryption key. It should then continue to boot into Windows, but instead it just goes into an endless loop of rebooting, flashing up the message saying that it has successfully read the encryption key, rebooting, ..... I've downloaded and successfully installed the latest BIOS update for the machine. I have even deleted all partitions from the hard drive and re-installed Windows from scratch, installed all the latest drivers from Lenovo's website, and tried again. Exactly the same problem though. Having spent the whole weekend trying to resolve this problem suggestions would be very welcome!
