Enable drag drop prompt for intranet network folders
How can I enable the prompt window for dragging and dropping (and copy pasting) files or folders on networked drives? Thanks (Same question also applies to XP)

Yes, I have a mapped network drive. I want a prompt to appear whenever I drag n drop a file or copy n paste a file from one location to another on the network. I have seen it enabled on my previous works pc but I no longer work at that company so have no idea how to enable it. Cheers

Hi, By default, drag and drop function is supported between two different network drives in Windows Explorer. If it cannot work, it can occur by a deliberate security setting done while downloading files from external sources. Please verify the following settings on the local machine. Control Panel->Internet Options->security->(select the zone)->custom level->Drag and drop or copy paste files and “file download” under “downloads” Thanks, Novak

This is not what I am looking for. I am looking to drag/drop/copy/paste between network folders with a prompt, not download from network folders. //network/folder1/ to //network/folder2/ (or to any other network folder location)

By the way, the above setting is enabled but still does not prompt.
