Enable File Sharing with .reg file?
I would like to enable File Sharing with a .reg file. I ran PC Monitor while enabling in the "Network and Sharing Center" but could not determine which key was modified. Is it possible? Anyone know which key and value? TIA

Hi, I would suggest a monitoring tool for you. Process Monitor is an advanced monitoring tool for Windows that shows real-time file system, Registry and process/thread activity. It may help you finding what you want. Process Monitor v1.26http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx Thanks. Sincerely, Yog Li Microsoft Online Community Support

Yog Li, thank you for your response. I actually did use "Process Monitor" and in my post mistakenly stated that I used "PC Monitor. My mistake. Of the 20,0000 registry touches that happened in the 10 seconds it took to enable file sharing I could not determine which, if any, registry keys were changed to accomplish that.Any other ideas?TIA

Hi TIA, I didn't research it myself, for this scenario is outside the support area. But according to your test, it's maybe not that simple to enable File Sharing only by a .reg file. Thanks. Sincerely, Yog Li Microsoft Online Community Support
