Email with attachments are too large; stuck in outbox; won't delete; No other emails going out due to blockage. How can I get rid of overloaded email?

Sent email from outlook express...too large an attachment...is stuck in outbox; have tried deleting...no luck; shut down and started up a few times..tried disconnecting from internet; still stuck. Tried searching to delete 'outbox' from files and start with new outbox....couldn't find.Help.
