I believe it was the Microsoft SE installer. It said basically that I won't be able to install this since it is for a 32 bit OS. I didn't try the Win LE, I just trashed both downloads after seeing the message of SE.Thanks so much.

Can you please do me a favor?Go here and then let your mouse rest while it's on top of the "download now" button, but don't click: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspxWhile your mouse is sitting there, look at the link that appears in the status bar on the bottom of your browser window. It should show you the name of the file that it's pointing to. Does it point to the same exe, or does the name include x86fre instead of amd64fre?What browser were you using when you went to that link? I've seen some cases where the page depends on info from the browser to detect whether or not the machine is running a 64-bit OS, and there are some browsers that don't include that info.
