Ruta, I tried two free ones when I had your problem. Both were recommended by family and friends holding minors in computer science, so I felt secure. Well some were pretty good, but when I could not after six weeks eradicate all problems, I turned my brand new machine over to Best Buy's Computer Geek Squad. They finally had to reformat the hard drive, and then installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus on my machine. I absolutely love it. I checked the price out today because I was curious, and found it to be very affordable on a retail basis. It scans and checks for virus', adware, riskware, malicious tools and trojans all at the same time, and then will identify, and cleanse or quarantine. I was a computer system's manager for about five years, (Administrative Accountant/Business Manager) and really know my way around Windows 3.1 through Windows 7, so I jumped fast and furious on this, and tried all types of self-help venues until turning my NEW TOY over to the professionals. Now my machine is called REBIRTH! Just hope I never have to name it REINCARNATION! I also still check my credential files for intrusion software once a day, and unplug my cable when I am away from the machine, leaving it to scan without a possible new internet violation. But, as I have read in Wikipedia, the offending software downloaded from the net has the hacker's software installed within the framework of the downloaded data, which can even be an email. If it is started every boot, again and again, it's a nightmare. That is where Kaspersky can be a life-saver. Hope you can follow this and it has helped. If you really need a quick answer, and you think I can help, you can contact me faster at elw47@live.com. To do your own research, "keylogging" is a good search topic to explore first.
