The best thing and the most easier way is to use group policy setting instead of registry to to that.Go to run and typegpedit.mscand pres enter.

Thanks Cyber_Defend_Team. I am trying to do this remotely and automated using a scripting process as I dont want one of our engineers editing the group policy. Do you know the reg keys that I can change or a way of changing the setting through gpedit via an NSIS; CMD or VBscript?

In that case you may have a look at:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816118This might help you.According to article it would be:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\Parameters\AccountLockout

I have since found another way to do it using CMD and SECEDIT.exe to import a new security template/database which worked as well and allowed me to make more than just the one change.

I'm having the same issue on an XP machine that can only be accessed remotely. Will this work for XP? The article specifies Server 2003.
