What is recommended to strip Windows 8 x64 to bare bones functionality?  I'm wanting something like "Server Core" equivalent for a personal game system.  Don't want anything but DirectX and my games to function.  I'd like it to be as close to a D.O.S. game system as possible.

     I've heard people made Vista 64-bit fit on standard CD at under 500 megabytes.  Can I do something like that with Windows 8?

     Automated installation kit looks too complicated and I'd like a simple GUI method.  Is there such a way?

     Can I strip Windows 8 somehow after a standard install?
