EXCEL 2003 and Windows 7
I just bought a Sony Vaio and it has Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it currently. I have EXCEL 03 and we have a log that we created for purchase orders. On the top we have tab that links the PO # to a PO. when I click the link it says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. PLease contact your system administrator." Then it pops up Mirosoft Visual Basic - Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)': An unexpected error has occurred. Any ideas?

Hi, You issue can be caused by the incorrect IE settings or the one registry entry is missing or corrupted. You can try the following steps to fix your issue.1. Start Internet Explorer 8.2. Click Tools button, choose Internet Options.3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset. 4. Click the Programs tab, and then click Set programs.5. Click Set Default Programs.6. Click to select Internet Explorer, and then click Set this program as default.7. Click OK, and then close the Default Programs dialog box. After that, please test again. If the issue still occure, please import the following registry from another Windows 7 computer.HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command I hope this can help you.John

John,Thanks. That did not work though. I do not have another windows 7 machine to import that registry. It is missing though. It's not a hyperlink to the internet rather a link to another page in the Excel program. I should also mention I just found out that links in outlook dont work either. Same error message. However links on the web work just fine (like in an email on hotmail). It seems to be an issue with office and windows 7... office version is 2003

First, I would like to share you a useful KB, you can refer to the following link:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/310049 As you can't import a registry from another comptuer, you can get my registry from here. After you import the registry, please reset the Office outlook as the default program.Good luck!John
