Duplicate User profiles on local PC
Once in awhile, when I log into a local user account on Windows 7 Professional, it creates a new user profile directory. It get pretty dang frustrating because it clears the desktop of any shortcuts because it's a brand new profile. ie: C:\User\Customer C:\User\Customer.PC-Name.000 C:\User\Customer.PC-Name.001 C:\User\Customer.Pc-Name.002 etc I've had it go up to ...009. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Also, if I just delete the xtra user profiles, it totally screws up the login process.

Does the issue occurs in Safe Mode? This issue can be caused by one of the startup programs. I suggest you troubleshoot in Clean Boot Mode. Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. It's hard to determine whether or not it does this in safe-mode. Reason being, it happens completely at random in a normal startup let alone in safe-mode. I can go a week without it happening before it creates a new profile. So far, a solution that seems to work is once I create the user acct through lusrmgr.msc, i hard code the profile path to C:\Users\Customer in user properties. I then regedit "HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" and deleted the extra profiles fix/correct one.
