Dual boot Windows 7 Home edition & Windows Server 2003/2008 or boot from usb hard disk
I have a laptop with windows 7 home edition. I would like to access windows server 2003 or 2008 on the same computer either using a dual boot format or booting from a usb hard drive. Using VMWare (or similar) is not an option as the application that I am using requires 4 GB ram. Is this possible?

Yes. Simply shrink your current C: partition using the tools available in Disk Management to make a new raw partition into which you can install WS2003/2008. Don't format the new partition from within W7, rather do it during the installation of WS2003/2008. Before you start, however, ensure that you have a complete backup of all important data currently on your laptop just in case something goes awry and you need to restore it to its current condition.

A boot menu will appear to allow you to choose Windows MVP, paid Remote Assistance is available for XP, Vista and Windows 7. My page on Video Card Problems is now my most popular landing page.
