I'm having trouble using an external monitor with Windows 7 on a Fujitsu T901. Whenever the UAC prompt appears, Secure Desktop dims the screen and redirects both screens to the built-in monitor several seconds later. I'm then required to manually reset my desired settings (dual monitors, primary display on external monitor to right of built-in). Has anyone found a safer solution than disabling UAC? I'm considering creating a profile or script to store/reset my display settings, but still hope Secure Desktop can be made to restore my display to its previous settings. Thanks! Double click User Account Control: Switch to the secure desktop when prompting for elevation and disable it. Please understand that this item controls whether the elevation request prompt is displayed on the interactive user's desktop or the secure desktop. It will not affect UAC settings. Thanks for your help, but these settings didn't affect the display behavior I'm hoping to address. UAC and Secure Desktop still reroute my dual-screen display to the built-in monitor, even with "switch to secure desktop when prompting for elevation" disabled. Thanks again. I may look to automate the steps involved in resetting my display using an NVidia profile or script when I have more time to revisit this. It's a real bummer to spend so much time messing around with display settings, day in and day out...
