Drivers for biometric scanners
I have a number of Biopod Biometric scanners, but have not been able to use them in Vista SP1,they worked ok with the drivers in XP and Vista (Pre-SP1). Will these drivers be available for Windows 7? I tried install the default drivers, but it would not allow me, since it did not recognize the device. It seems the drivers for Windows 7 are sketchy at best, they seem to be missing for some motherboard devices, and after some playing around you can get them to work, but it is still a beta.

You may launch Scanners and Cameras, choose Add Device. Then choose Have Disk. Then locate to the driver installation file (*.inf) for the scanner and go on installing. If the driver is packed, compress it first. Please note that if the driver pack is an installation file and cannot be compressed manually, we could not use this method. This is compatibility issue. Since it does not work in Windows Vista, we should not expect that it will work in Widows 7 beta. Arthur Xie - MSFT

You'll have to ask the manufacturer of the device if they plan to offer a driver for Windows 7.- John
