Save the .pdf attachment to somewhere on your hard drive you will find it (Desktop, My Documents). Right-click on the .pdf file and choose "Open With". Select the correct application (Adobe Reader or another .pdf reader) and tick the box that says "Always use this application...".MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I had rtied that already and it did not work. For what ever reason all these pdf files will automatically download to my media player. I can't figure out how to change where the documents download to. Once they get into the media player The document is unreadable it opens up in bianary code. Looks like: 001 000 1011 and a bunch of disconnected letters and dashes.

What do you mean "download to my media player"? Aren't you saving the attachments somewhere useful first? The reason you see the code in the media player is because it can't open that filetype. What .pdf reader are you using? Try uninstalling/reinstalling it.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

This all started with my first down load on this computer. It was music and sound track for my choir. every thing from the letter to the sound track and sheet music all down loaded into the media player. ever since all pdf files go automatically into my windows media player rendering them unreadable. Other files ask me where I want to down load the file to but pdf's do not and I can't find the soft ware or system file or whatever it is to change the setting. At the time I made that first down load I did not have a pdf I since down loaded a couple of them. but dont remember off hand what they are. I have a concert tonight and am preesed for time.

That sounds pretty odd. Go to Add/Remove Programs and find Adobe Reader. This is probably what you have. Uninstall it. Then go to Adobe.com and download/install Adobe Reader. You should be asked where to save the file and choose something sensible like your Desktop or My Documents. Since I don't know from where you got the music, if you were using something like LimeWire make sure the computer is malware-free. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
