Windows Vista Home Pre SP1. After what looks like a successful download of an EXE or ZIP files I can not find the files that were downloaded from the internet anywhere on the hard drive.Triedsaving to several locations on the hard drive including the desktop and also an external drive. Searched the entire drive andfound nothing.Help Please... this is very frustrating...

Is there an active AV program that might be quarantining it or deleting it. Try disabling your AV/spyware program(s) and then try downloading exe's and see if they make a difference.

Thank you for your reply. I disabled Norton 360 with still no success in finding downloaded files on my HD. Ended up backup all my data and doing an f-disk and reinstalling Vista. I'm guessing there was a virus on my system that was not detected by Norton even though I keep it updated and had done several scans. Oh well things happen... at least it's back to working order for now.
