Downloaded Windows7..
Downloaded fine twice. Both times when I boot to the RC7 partition it on occasion starts up and loads fine. Sometimes it has no icons on the desktop and it does not have a taskbar. If I reboot it may or may not start properly; sometimes it takes multiple reboots. Anybody got any ideas

Here's one, but it's a doosie:I can only assume that you have another OS besides Windows 7 installed on your system, hence the need for another partitiion on your root drive. How about backing up that other OS to another drive, DVD, etc..., fully erase your root drive, reformat with only ONE partition, and then install Windows 7 all over again...?GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansign Speakers...

Cactusvista: Have you been able to figure out your problem yet? I don't think DavidLeeDavis's suggestion is the best solution, though it may work for unrelated reasons. -Nick

I haven't been able to figure a work around for the problem; therefore, I have given up in my effort to try Windows 7. I don'tunderstand why it should seem to install properly on at least six occasions in a clean partition and sometimes it will boot to a desktop with no icons or taskbar and sometimes it will appear on the desktop until I reboot and try to us Win 7 again. The icons and taskbar are now gone. I sure hope this will not be an issue when it is finally released.
