Download problem
Windows XP did an automatic update during the download (done in Firefox) and now when I try to download W7 it just says:"This downloads is already on the download list. However, it experienced errors previously.Would you like to retry?" I hit yes, the status changes to 'connecting' for a second and then I get this error message: "Could not resume, the file has changed on the server. (mismatch file size)Try to download a fresh copy of the URL.Would you like to start over?" I click yes, nothing happens. How do I download a fresh copy of the URL? Does this mean just refreshing the page? What I tried:Restarting download, by canceling current then clicking the download link again.Using IE, but for some reason if wont work at all, I just get the page right before the download manager pops up.Restarting FirefoxUsing Chrome, doesn't even get to download page.Cleared cache and offline website data in Firefox, still nothing.Used different account.I would really appreciate any help on this problem, even if it's to tell me there's nothing to do and I'll have to use a different computer (Hope not though).

Hello YozMan,the download limit has been removed , so there should been noreason why you can not download W7.The server might be busy on the time that you tried, so my suggestion will be to try again, if its still not works , just reset your IE settings to original factory settings ( in IE go to tools - Internet Options - Advanced - from there find the "reset button), i believe this will start the download Hope this helpsregArdsErdal OZKAYA

Hi, I'm actually Yozman but for some reason technet doesn't think so...Anyway i did what you said and I still have the same problem I get to the page that says to:Please wait while the Download Manager begins your download.and I don't even get the download manager... just that page.I don't think I was clear, it was working I was getting it albeit slowly, but still it was downloading, then Automatic Update reared it's ugly face and restarted my computer before I could hit pause! when I went back to the manager I got the above error messages. Now I want to know is there a way to still download it on this computer?

Yozman,Are you trying this using IE? I had simuliar problems yesterday when trying chrome(doesn't work at all), Mozilla(same issue you are having), and then IE worked. I had to try it maybe 2-3times and it worked. Also, make sure you find where the orginal download saved to and delete that. You'll want to make sure it is a perfect download.

OK heres the fix I found: I went to the original place that I'd downloaded win 7 as you suggested and deleted it then I downloaded in Firefox. So it's all good now, thank you so much for your help!

Good that it worked for you, sometimes technet and MSDN downloads wont start from any other browser apart from IE.

Yozman,I'm glad I could help. Enjoy Win7. Now if I could only get mine to work. My upgrade gets all the way to the end of the install, reboots and then says it wont take and rolls back to my vista. I have a post on it if anyone has any suggestions.JaVaJ

I am having the same problem as Yozman. Last night I could only get to 10.95mb and I left it downloading for 8hrs. Today I got to 1.66gb in 30min, but it is not moving past that. It has been an hour since it stopped. I am using mozilla which is completely updated and at factory settings. I have tried restating several times on several pcs.

OK I finished downloading it but it is saying the file is incomplete or corrupt and to start a fresh download. Anybody have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Oh and I was able to finish the corrupt download with IE7I just got done trying to download on a different computer and I am getting the same results with with both IE and Firefox. I have set both IE and FF back to factory settings as well as putting all security settings on low.

If you have not done this, it will keep corrupting since it is just using the cached download as a starting point! It needs to be a completely fresh install. Also make sure to close all programs, even anti-virus/spam programs when download begins. This should fix your problem.JaVaJ
