Have disc but unsure whether to install it on my old computer or not. Would like to try 7 but do not really want to download again, takes toolong. any help would be appreciated.Cheers

Honestly don't think that would be a good idea to install an aborted download - even if it was that close to being complete. You may or may not even be able to burn/mount the disc image in the first place. You SHOULD download itagain.

Wolfie2k6, thanks for your reply. Should I if I decide to download again save to my computer then make disc? Last time I saved it straight to a DVD disc. Also what happens with the product key that came with the first download, will I get another from another download?

You'd almost have to save the .ISO file to the hard drive first - then use the ImageBurn tool Microsoft recommends - or Nero or Roxio to burn the ISO file to the DVD. Saving the file directly to the DVD won't do you much good. An ISO file is an image of the DVD. It's essentially a backup file and if you simply burn the ISO to the disk, you're not going to get very far with it. It won't boot, or be readable in any way so the computer will be able to read and extract the files and install Windows 7.As far as the product key... You might want to consider holding on to it. Some people have reported issues with keys not working properly - so in that case, it won't hurt to have a spare - just in case. From reports out there, there are only 4 working keys for the 32 bit and 4 more for the 64 bit version. So it doesn't matter if you lose it.

Please do a CRC checksum on the ISO and post the output here. We'll compare and see if your ISO is corrupted (or not). Also is this x64 or x86? Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org

Hi there, tried the same several times.. 99% and then fatal error because verifyingproces found corrupt file. Fourth time it succeded.. Only thing different was that I gave download-manager full permission to acces internet in my firewall (zonealarm), so this time it didnt ask whether to allow or not, it just downloaded afterwards with succes..Good luck:-)
