Download Doesn't Start
Hi,The past couple of days I have been trying to download the 64bit version of Windows 7 RC, but with no success. Every time I click on the "Download Now" link it goes to the Download manager page explaining that it is now loading the download manager and then it just refreshes back to the page with the "Download Now" link on it. I have also tried to download the 32bit version with the same issue.I have tried, clearing my cache, restarting my PC, etc. but it still doesn't work.Anyone able to help?ThanksChris

Chris -I was able to start the download without problems. First off, what OS and version of IE are you using to download with? Do you see the yellow bar at the top pop up and tell you that you need to install an ActiveX component? Do you see the Download manager load at all?

Chris B - It can be still found here. They said the program for downloading the RC would go through the end of June.

Wolfie2k6 -Thanks for your reply. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 with IE7 (v7.0.6001.18000).I already installed the ActiveX component. It now loads that download manager page for about 5 to 10 secs and then reloads the page with the Download Now link/button.ThanksChris

chris - Ok.. So it's installed the component - installed and seems to load the download manager - and reloads the page. On my system, it does more or less the same thing - download manager stays open, however, and the download continues.. The page does indeed go back to the start the download page - probably so you can have a second shot at making note of the product key...Check the Event Viewer to see if there are any errors, crashes or the like noted in there.

I see.You can try using another user on your pc. Not your account, but e. g. the guest account and see if it works.Just an idea.Did you change any IE setting? Do you use 32 or 64 bit version of Windows Ultimate?

Hi Guys,In the end I just used Firefox to download it which worked, not sure why IE7 isn't working but oh well. I can look at fixing it later (or just install IE8!!).Thanks for all of your help.Chris
