What happens, when you try to install the program? Do you receive an error message? If so, please quote the full text of the error message. You mentioned Kaspersky. Have you installed, are you running, or have you ever used a Kaspersky security package on your desktop computer? (Kaspersky security packages include Kaspersky Pure, Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus).Please remember that you should never install or run more than one fully-featured anti-virus program simultaneously. Duplication leads to conflicts - and can prevent any of the security software from protecting your computer. Some computer manufacturers pre-install anti-virus software on new computers. Have you ever installed or used any other other anti-virus program on your desktop computer (that includes a free or trial version of McAfee or Norton)? Removal of McAfee, Norton and some other anti-virus programs can leave 'residue' on your computer, which may interfere with other security software. The presence or residue from McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky or any other AV utility might prevent the installation of Microsoft Security Essentials on your desktop computer. If you have ever used McAfee or Norton, please provide full details. Then, I will tell you how to remove the residue.Malware infections can also block the installation of MSE. Consequently, I recommend you visit www.eset.com/online-scanner. Read the Help and FAQ information. Then, perform an on-line scan of your computer. Also, download and install the free version of SuperAntispyware. Perform a full scan of your computer. SuperAntispyware should not interfere with your existing anti-virus software but if necessary, you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your existing AV protection, before you perform the scan.Next, boot into Safe Mode. Run Malwarebytes again, and perform another full scan of your computer. Malwarebytes should not interfere with your existing anti-virus software.
