Yes, it most certainly will. What is it you are trying to achieve? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc232762%28v=prot.10%29.aspxPLEASE MARK ANY ANSWERS TO HELP OTHERS Blog: rorymon.com Twitter: @Rorymon

In fact, I'd like away to raise the credentials of some applications without the UAC message requesting the elevation of credentials. The strange thing is when I change the key ConsentPromptBehaviorUser to 0 apparently the app works (when the User is in the Power User group). Regards

Hi, I have test it on my test machine. The user account is in Power User group, not in Administrators group. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\ConsentPromptBehaviorUser Change the value to 0 means that standard users can't do actions that require UAC. Change the value to 1 means that standard users prompted for admin username/password. If add the user account to Administrators group and you can elevate without prompting by changing the value of ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin to 0. More information, you can refer to User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode Hope the information helps.Tracy Cai TechNet Community Support
