Double Click Brings Up Properties Instead of Openning Item
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with all important patches.
Suddenly, double clicking on a folder in Explorer brings up the properties window instead of openning the folder. The same is true when I double click on an executable. I have to right click and select Open to open a folder or run a program.
Any idea what is causing this?http://www.saberman.com

1. This mouse configuration may be mouse vendor specific. Look for options of Mouse /Control Panel. If there is return option to defaul settings, give it the try.
2. This is not exactly what you have encountered, but helpful troubleshooting

I have been using this system since Windows 7 went RTM.
I have a vague recollection of having this problem once before (again a long time after the system was built) but cannot remember what the cause or the solution was.
The Mouse/Control Panel does not have any options for double clicking other than speead.
As you suggested I posted in the other forum.
