Domain user profile cannot be re-created
Hi there,I have a testing machine running W7 logged on toourcompanydomain and I was usinga domainaccountThe profile folderwas correctly created in the C:\USERS folder.I deleted this profile folder (for testing purposes, this was not accidental)by logging on with a local account and then reconnected with the domain account.Under Windows XP, when this happens, the local folder for the domain accountis (normally) automatically recreated.Under Windows 7, though, the folder was not recreated and the system warned me that it was using a temporary profile instead (like when you logon with a guest account for instance).I checked the Event log and found this 3 Errors/Warnings every time I try to logon with the domain account:- Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. - Windows has backed up this user profile. Windows will automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on.- Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Thanks in advance for any tip on how to solve this!Cheers,Matthieu

In addition, please refer to "Error message when you log on to a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7-based computer by using a temporary profile: "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" as well.Best RegardsDale

Both solutions worked. After deleting the registry subkey and logging on back with the domain account, local profile was created successfully. Thanks both!Regards,Matthieu
