Domain joined WinXP machine on home network can't surf the internet
I have several laptops at work that are joined to our company domain. We use a proxy server to access the internet. These systems have no trouble getting on the net at work through the proxy server. However, when used on public wi-fi or home networks they cannot surf the internet. All the systems will pull IP addresses, gateway and DNS settings on these outside networks, can see other devices on these networks, can ping IP addresses on the Internet but will not pull up any websites. They can pull up sites by IP address sometimes but not always. The proxy settings are turned off and IE is set to detect settings automatically. One of these machines was wiped and reloaded within the last week and it still has this issue. I have deleted all browser history and temp files from IE as well as cleared the DNS using ipconfig /flushdns with no luck. I installed Firefox on one of these machines but it will not pull any sites either. If these machines are removed from the domain and added to a workgroup they seem to work fine. All users login with local accounts on these machines and all tests have been conducted with administrator accounts. Any and all suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.1 person got this answerI do too
