Domain accounts and Run as... settings
I have computers on our business network that are placed in a Domain we recently setup. I found an easy way to change user account settings without having to go into the Domain control, set them as admins, wait for the settings to replicate, and so on. That is to browse to the System32 directory and right click the control panel CPL files to run them as an administrator. This way I can change wallpapers, power settings, etc. Problem is, I am being blamed that this process is not making the changes correctly, things are being reverted to old settings and other misc issues with the display and such. I am telling my supervisor that changing settings this way changes it for the profile that is logged in, regardless of what account you use in the "Run as..." dialog. They don't magically change beck from this modification without some intervention from something else (like GPO settings, etc). They don't believe me, and are saying the the "Run as..." with the CPL files doesn't work that way. Who is correct?1 person needs an answerI do too
